It’s all about the neighborhood
This Friday, January 6th from 6-8pm, the Collaborative is showcasing Bill Crandall's excellent Místochord at the Third Floor (above Slim's Diner), painter Tanya Renne at Hank's Cocktail Bar, and Literary Cocktails with Chantal Tseng at Petworth Citizen, along with special shopping discounts.

Bill has lived in Petworth for over a decade, and has long thought of ways to help encourage the creativity in our neighborhood. That effort starts at his home, with his own art and a free show at the Third Floor on Sunday, November 20th.

More often than not, Washington, D.C., is associated with power and politics, with a dash of fireworks and monuments thrown in for good measure. That stereotype of the capital is exactly what photographer Bill Crandall avoids in his mysterious compositions of the District’s neighborhoods. His camera isn’t in the press pool but is turned on the “real city where people live.”
